I’m so glad that you are here! I am Sierra Schmidt, lead writer and photographer behind Island + Alpine.

I live in beautiful Texas Hill Country with my sweet family – husband & three kiddos. We happily fill our days with exploring our area and making fun day trips, and are always planning our next trip!

We strive to provide detailed travel itineraries as well as plenty of photos for visual inspiration. Our main goal is to encourage everyday families like us to seek adventure and make space in their daily lives to explore the world around them!
